Should Sex-Education be given in schools or be it da responsibility of parents ??

Both ! It shud definitely com 4m parents, bt at da same tym since most f da parents don’t make enough efforts wid der kids ,may b due 2 conservativeness, it must b taught. If it wasn’t taught at all, I m sure da der wud b even more STD’s n teenage pregnancies. According 2 Rasmussen reports, 80% of da adults still say children shud b taught sex (don’t tak it othrwse) by parents rather thn schools, 11% feel dat its da responsibility f da school while 8% wer in a dilemma, whch side 2 go.

Besides da most effective channel for sex-education cn b media & particularly TV, films n magazines; bt our social customs and conservativeness may nt permit fo it. One f da -ve aspects f givin dis type f education is dat if taught young high school & senior secondary school kids may indulge in its practice bt taking it +vely, if nt taught it may giv rise 2 STD’s whch wl endanger our future generations as da doctorial science says STD’s cn b transferred 4m parents 2 da offsprings.

It is nt only da responsibility bt da right f da parents. Bt I don kn why don’t v cm out f dis bulshit , dis conservative barrier n da long-term practice f nt talking n discussing dis topic @ home. Many school boards argue dat der r families, especially in urban schools wher da child isn’t informed & is in a danger f unprotected sex and pregnancy. So, it must b taught. Though der wer efforts made by a school BOARD by including sm f da chapters in da school buks bt da reslt ws as expected. Our social conservativeness cam in2 being 1ce agn. There ws a big protest in Uttar Pradesh regarding it. Ultimately da board had 2 withdraw those chapters 4m da curriculum. Our conserv-attitude is 1 f grtst hindrances 2wrds giving such education. I think parents must tak it as a part f education besides thkg smthg else.

Howevr, der r sm parents hu r comg out f dis social barrier n our long term practice f nt talking bout dis at home. While browsing da responses f sm f da parents regarding dis topic, I found different opinions. Though sm cmpletly opposed it, yet der wer a few hu favourd it. One f da parents said dat he wud care less if da school teaches his daughter bout it, he wud himself plan 2 talk 2 his kids. Der ws notha guy hu said dat during da mid 70’s dy wer 1 f da 1st to gt dis “education” n whn his kids wer exposed 2 it, he ws v much involved in da subject matter.

Statistics show da teen pregnancy rate in US is 22 per 1000 while in India, in 2007, 375 million people wer suffering 4m STD’s out f whch 6% wer TeenAgers. Hence, der is an emerging need 2 include dis subject matter in da academic curriculum coz besides da danger f teenage pregnancies & STD’s, der r other emerging issues like Sex Related VIOLENCE spreading its wings quite rapidly in our society.

I personally belev dat da young senior secondary school/high school stdnts shud b taught bout sex by der contemporaries, wher a much older stdnt whom da younger boys & gals respected, gave dm advice and an insight into wat 2 expect as dy sexually mature.

Are Tru Lovers So Shy.......

10th Grade:-
As I sat there in English class,
I stared at the girl next to me.
She was my so called 'best friend'.
I stared at her long, silky hair,
and wished she was mine.
But she didn't notice me like that,
and I knew it.
After class,
she walked up to me and asked me for
the notes she had missed the day before.
I handed them to her.She said 'thanks'
and gave me a kiss on the cheek.
I want to tell her, I want her to know
that I don't want to be just friends,
I love her but I'm just too shy,
and I don't know why.

11th grade:-
The phone rang. On the other end,
it was her. She was in tears,
mumbling on and on about how
her love had broken her heart.
She asked me to come over
because she didn't want to be alone, So I did.
As I sat next to her on the sofa, I stared at her
soft eyes, wishing she was mine.

After 3 hours, within whch v watchd a movie,
and three bags of chips, I decided to go home.
She looked at me, said 'thanks'
and gave me a kiss
on the cheek..I want to tell her,
I want her to know that
I don't want to be just friends,
I love her but I'm just too shy,
and I don't know why.

Senior year:-
One fine day she walked to me
and asked me if I cud cm with her
for da prop-nite, whch ws meant only fo da couples,
during the annual function..
we made a promise that
we would go together just as 'best friends'.
So we did.
That night, after everything was over,
I was standing at her front door step.
I stared at her as She smiled at me
and stared at me with her crystal eyes.
Then she said- "I had the best time, thanks!"
and gave me a kiss on the cheek.
I want to tell her,
I want her to know
that I don't want to be just friends,
I love her but I'm just too shy,
and I don't know why.

Graduation:-
A day passed, then a week, then a month.
Before I could blink, it was graduation day.
I watched as her perfect body
floated like an angel
up on stage to get her degree.
I wanted her to be mine-but
she didn't notice me like that, and I knew it.
Before everyone went home,
she came to me in her smock and hat,
and cried as I hugged her.
Then she lifted her head from my shoulder
and said- 'you're my best friend,
thanks' and gave me a kiss on the cheek.
I want to tell her,
I want her to know
that I don't want to be just friends,
I love her but I'm just too shy,
and I don't know why.

Marriage:-
Now I sit in the pews of the church.
That girl is getting married now.
and drive off to her new life,
married to another man.
I wanted her to be mine,
but she didn't see me like that,
and I knew it.
But before she drove away,
she came to me and said 'you came !'.
She said 'thanks' and kissed me on the cheek.
I want to tell her,
I want her to know
that I don't want to be just friends,
I love her but I'm just too shy,
and I don't know why.

Death:-
Years passed, I looked down at the coffin
of a girl who used to be my 'best friend'.
At the service, they read a diary entry
she had written in her high school years.
This is what it read:
'I stare at him wishing he was mine,
but he doesn't notice me like that,
and I know it.
I want to tell him,
I want him to know that
I don't want to be just friends,
I love him but I'm just too shy,
and I don't know why.
I wish he would tell me he loved me !

.........'I wish I did too...'

I thought to my self, and I cried.

Why Dreams Doesn't Come True ????

It was Monday, 7th of September 2009, the day which I was waiting for, the day f my dream. It was da day when ITC was 2 shrtlist the candidates for the internship. Although, I had heared many rumours that ITC doesn’t take stdnts with CGPA below 8 and last year students having CGPA more than 8.5 were only shortlisted and my CGPA is 7.465, yet my inner soul was continuously saying that I would definetly make thru the initial list of 34 shrtlisted candidates outta entire 3rd yearites. ITC had alwz been my drm cmpny. Its not coz f the pakage it provides, although money does matter, bt it was more dn money that made it my drm cmpny. It was its Values like excellence and innovation and its Vision to sustain ITC’s position as one of India’s most valuable corporation which made it my drm cmpny coz des r inline wid mah main objective in life. I always want to excel in my life by getting associated with the bst in a field. ITC’s initiative 2wrdz Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) thru its E-Chaupal chapter, which is the largest internet based intervention in rural area, covering over 40,000 villages in 10 states had been impressing me throughout.

It was 6pm in the evening when my frnd Arnav ( popularly known as 'BABA' ) and I went to the intro-talk of ITC. V had received a notice that the names of the shortlisted candidates will b announced just after the talk, bt it didn’t happen. When I enquired, they said that it’ll b put up on the notice board, so I came bak 2 my room nd was praying to God that I get to enter the list f shortlisted candidates. While I was goin to the mess, I met 1 f my gud frnd, Ankit Mahajan, on the way hu gave me the news I was eagerly waiting for. Yo man !!! I made it thru the 1st step. I thankd GOD nd went to my room to arrange for the formals. Unfortunately, I cud only arrange the shirt n the pant and nt the shoes (well, a kinda formal n a lill informal :-) ).

4 of us from my branch including me, Prathamesh, Shaivya n Rohit Mishra wer selected fo the GD which ws infact a case study. It was already 10 pm now. We wer divided into grps nd I had performed pretty well in the Group Discussion (GD). Finally, the result was out and Yippe !!! I was selected for the first round of interview. I kept calling my parents after each n every instance and took their blessings. I also kept praying GOD all the tym. I was feeling very proud now because I was among the Top-11 of my institute and above all, I was the only one frm my branch to be among the finalists. The first round f interview began at around midnight 12.40 am and it went on for approximately 25 mins. I knew I had made some mistakes in the interview. I shudnt have given those foolish answers. V waited fo the results till 3 am when finally they declared the final list of 5 candidates who wer selected out of 11 and Alas !!!!! all my hopes wer in vain. I had lost the tough battle.

Well, its all v call life. Happiness n sorrow go hand in hand. Up’s and downs are a part of it. At present, I am having mixed feelings. I m feeling proud coz i was the only one from my branch to have reachd such heights. Secondly, m sad coz I cudnt make thru it even though I had a very gud chance of winning the battle.  Wrdz of Prateek “ U ve opened our eyes, u left behind many 8 pointers and they may b thinking bout it ” and from Ankit Mahajan “ Man of The Moment ” added to the feeling. Bt I know, this happiness is only shrt-lived. It wont be long lasting. This is corporate world, tough competition man, and if either 2 were selected or 200, it doesn’t matter. I shud hav been 1 of them.

Notha dream shattered. I  just don’t understand “ Why Dreams Doesn’t Come True ?????? ”....... Bt I won’t stop dreaming. ITC is not the end of the world. I’ll dream big, much bigger then this. How many times will I fail ????? Once, twice, thrice and ultimately I’ll surely succeed. Always remember ‘ Dream Big and Aim High as they are the ways to shine Bright ’.

“ Dare to dream and love to fall,
No dream is too big, no star is too far ”

Finally, as I come towards the end of this post, I'd like to  thank GOD for bestowing His blessings upon me. I would also like to thank my friends and everyone who prayed for me and wished for my success. I would especially like to thank Rahul Sir (Placed In RELIANCE PETROCHEMICALS) and Himanshu Sir (IIM-C) who helped me a lot in the preparation.
