Why Dreams Doesn't Come True ????

It was Monday, 7th of September 2009, the day which I was waiting for, the day f my dream. It was da day when ITC was 2 shrtlist the candidates for the internship. Although, I had heared many rumours that ITC doesn’t take stdnts with CGPA below 8 and last year students having CGPA more than 8.5 were only shortlisted and my CGPA is 7.465, yet my inner soul was continuously saying that I would definetly make thru the initial list of 34 shrtlisted candidates outta entire 3rd yearites. ITC had alwz been my drm cmpny. Its not coz f the pakage it provides, although money does matter, bt it was more dn money that made it my drm cmpny. It was its Values like excellence and innovation and its Vision to sustain ITC’s position as one of India’s most valuable corporation which made it my drm cmpny coz des r inline wid mah main objective in life. I always want to excel in my life by getting associated with the bst in a field. ITC’s initiative 2wrdz Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) thru its E-Chaupal chapter, which is the largest internet based intervention in rural area, covering over 40,000 villages in 10 states had been impressing me throughout.

It was 6pm in the evening when my frnd Arnav ( popularly known as 'BABA' ) and I went to the intro-talk of ITC. V had received a notice that the names of the shortlisted candidates will b announced just after the talk, bt it didn’t happen. When I enquired, they said that it’ll b put up on the notice board, so I came bak 2 my room nd was praying to God that I get to enter the list f shortlisted candidates. While I was goin to the mess, I met 1 f my gud frnd, Ankit Mahajan, on the way hu gave me the news I was eagerly waiting for. Yo man !!! I made it thru the 1st step. I thankd GOD nd went to my room to arrange for the formals. Unfortunately, I cud only arrange the shirt n the pant and nt the shoes (well, a kinda formal n a lill informal :-) ).

4 of us from my branch including me, Prathamesh, Shaivya n Rohit Mishra wer selected fo the GD which ws infact a case study. It was already 10 pm now. We wer divided into grps nd I had performed pretty well in the Group Discussion (GD). Finally, the result was out and Yippe !!! I was selected for the first round of interview. I kept calling my parents after each n every instance and took their blessings. I also kept praying GOD all the tym. I was feeling very proud now because I was among the Top-11 of my institute and above all, I was the only one frm my branch to be among the finalists. The first round f interview began at around midnight 12.40 am and it went on for approximately 25 mins. I knew I had made some mistakes in the interview. I shudnt have given those foolish answers. V waited fo the results till 3 am when finally they declared the final list of 5 candidates who wer selected out of 11 and Alas !!!!! all my hopes wer in vain. I had lost the tough battle.

Well, its all v call life. Happiness n sorrow go hand in hand. Up’s and downs are a part of it. At present, I am having mixed feelings. I m feeling proud coz i was the only one from my branch to have reachd such heights. Secondly, m sad coz I cudnt make thru it even though I had a very gud chance of winning the battle.  Wrdz of Prateek “ U ve opened our eyes, u left behind many 8 pointers and they may b thinking bout it ” and from Ankit Mahajan “ Man of The Moment ” added to the feeling. Bt I know, this happiness is only shrt-lived. It wont be long lasting. This is corporate world, tough competition man, and if either 2 were selected or 200, it doesn’t matter. I shud hav been 1 of them.

Notha dream shattered. I  just don’t understand “ Why Dreams Doesn’t Come True ?????? ”....... Bt I won’t stop dreaming. ITC is not the end of the world. I’ll dream big, much bigger then this. How many times will I fail ????? Once, twice, thrice and ultimately I’ll surely succeed. Always remember ‘ Dream Big and Aim High as they are the ways to shine Bright ’.

“ Dare to dream and love to fall,
No dream is too big, no star is too far ”

Finally, as I come towards the end of this post, I'd like to  thank GOD for bestowing His blessings upon me. I would also like to thank my friends and everyone who prayed for me and wished for my success. I would especially like to thank Rahul Sir (Placed In RELIANCE PETROCHEMICALS) and Himanshu Sir (IIM-C) who helped me a lot in the preparation.
